Review on MidWest High Walk Thru Steel Gate by Christine Vargas

This gate looks good and works well. Everything feels solid and well-built except for perhaps the most important part, the spring-loaded top loop. This part is subject to the most wear and use as it allows the gate to swing back and forth. We use this gate all the time as a passage from one part of the house to another as large dogs often lock themselves behind it during the day. We have had two of those gates fail, one within the 90 day return period which the company replaced directly and now the new gate has failed in less than two years. This is a design flaw that should be addressed as this is the part of the gate that is most stressed and worn. This is a great product until it doesn't work anymore. It does a very good job of restricting large breed dogs where they are needed. Some redesign and redesign of the structural integrity of this critical part of the gate would make this a superb product that will last a very long time.
