Review on 🎀 Black On-Stage Foam Ball Microphone Windscreen by Vanessa Garcia

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Fake junk is a potential toxic health hazard!

I got it after more than a month of waiting - a story about a slow boat from China (yes, the same country responsible for melamine in baby milk powder and cadmium in baby toys). Mine arrived in a clear noisy unmarked plastic bag. All were deformed, irregular in shape and uneven in thickness. All 5 of them smelled like very strong harsh chemicals. I can't pinpoint it, but they smell strongly acidic (unusual since plastic-based materials usually have a petrochemical smell), and I don't really want it anywhere near my body, let alone my lips. I believe the foam is open cell polyurethane but I'm not sure. This is an absolute fake as I bought a genuine On Stage windscreen from a local music store about 3 months ago and it was odorless and about 3-4 times thicker. These fakes might be good for sound, but they're so thin they don't protect against wind or explosives. I'll let them air out for a week and hope the smell goes away or it's a waste of money as anyone will choke on the smell if they try to sing while using them.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Not the best
