Bought for our covered front door and I couldn't be happier! After putting the batteries in, hung it on the control panel and left it alone the entire Christmas season. The reason it was so maintenance free is because the battery pack allows you to set the rhythm for each subsequent day - 6 hours on - 18 hours off - with a double click of a button. That means you can hang it up that high with a stool and leave it alone. Really beautiful classic decoration. Added fun - 2 neighbors called to ask where we got it because they wanted one too. It sells itself. Can't wait to hang it up again later this year.
