Bought for my daughter for a snowball fight. She went sledding, threw a lot of snowballs and built a few snowmen. At the end of two hours of play, I was able to squeeze out my gloves like a sponge. You just got wet. They can be good for skiing if you're good at it and keep your hands out of the snow most of the time, but they're terrible at snow handling for snowballs and snowmen. My husband and I stayed with her all the time and did the same. Our hands stayed toasty and dry in snow gloves from two different brands.
