The instructions and installation kit are a little confusing until you realize you just got a lot of spare parts to install (drywall screws and regular wood screws) and then additional plastic mounting hardware so you can take it to different locations. doors as needed. (It's actually really good compared to other products that don't even give you enough screws in half the time). But once you understand that it is a spare parts kit, it is very easy to install and use. So far our 2 70lb dogs understood it was a barrier and stayed out of the kitchen when it was closed without contesting it.
