There are no issues with the strap at all. It has a fairly tight elastic that allows you to bend forward, but not a loose, slouchy fit like others I've tried. The belt is 1.5 inches wide but the buckle is slightly wider. Some other reviews complain that it doesn't go through belt loops, which it does, but the strap is sturdy and designed for carrying items, and the buckle is easy to remove and reattach. This is not a problem. Others complain that it's too long, but it comes with a belt clip (elastic loop) that you can place anywhere to extend the end on your belt. So it's not a problem. I'm glad I bought it so I bought a second one in a different color.
