So far, so good. in sports and wearable GPS

A few weeks with my new watch and everything looks fine. I'll start with the only really negative review I have. These hours are not pleasant. Whether I loosen it or tighten it, it doesn't seem to fit my wrist. However, this is not a deal breaker for me. When I'm not thinking about it, it doesn't seem to bother me. User Guide/Instructions: Yes, if you need very detailed detailed instructions, the quick guide will not help you and you will need to download the full user guide from the website. Not so hot what's up. I took the watch on the first day and understood everything in the first 20 minutes. I did it when I had time and it wasn't a major workout, so it wasn't hard for me to stop, think, adapt and play. Network Setup: It wasn't particularly easy, but it wasn't too frustrating either. It doesn't like my current XP OS on my only computer, but it works great and easily adapts to my Vista OS. Yes, I am using the ANT agent on two different computers with no problems. Loads quickly and easily. Reading the full guide here may be helpful, and it's important to follow the setup instructions. I didn't think about using the heart rate monitor. Not what's important to me. Online Data: Nifty. Excellent reports. Accuracy: So far I have no doubts about the accuracy of a pedometer or heart rate monitor. I haven't calibrated the pedometer, not sure if I need it, but I think I'll test it at some point in the future, but for now I think it's accurate. The pedometer was easy to install and I keep it on my shoes at all times. Less than I expected. NOBODY asked me what was on my shoes. I'm nervous about the strap tearing as per other reviews. I can see that would be really bad, not easy to fix and would pretty much ruin the whole setup. I think the person is just crossing their fingers. It would be nice if Garmin upgraded this watch to make it work better with a better strap. Otherwise, this is a nice piece of engineering. I look forward to using it for a long time.

Pros
  • ANT+ technology: wirelessly connects to a heart rate monitor, foot pod and cadence sensor, then shares fitness data with your computer
Cons
  • Not sure
