Good socks to keep feet dry and warm on cold hikes and camping

I wear these socks when winter hiking, hiking and boating in bad weather to keep my feet warm and dry. I have just returned from a 2 week trip up the coast of Mexico where I was exposed to 2 storms and these socks have held up well to several rainy days with cold wet nights at the wheel. I wore them with regular sailing shoes as a lighter version of thick waterproof boots. My shoes got wet, as did the outsides of my socks (which might feel like "dampness" on your feet), but my feet stayed warm and dry. The wool lining is seamless and comfortable and absorbs light sweat well. I've noticed that if I wear them in conditions where my feet sweat a lot (e.g. climbing a hill), I first feel some moisture inside the next day when I put them back on, but that wasn't an issue. They're a bit thicker than my other durable wool hiking socks, so I wear them with shoes/boots that are one size larger. I usually wear size 11 ½ shoes and buy socks in a large size. Due to their waterproof Porelle membrane construction, they take a long time to air dry (2 days?) on the road, on the boat, etc. when the outside gets completely wet. Turn inside out and hang upside down to dry the inside (otherwise the water will only stay near the sock), then turn back over to dry the outside. I have 2 pairs so I can switch between them. They can be quickly machine dried on a low setting when washing/drying at home. Because of the price I advise you to be careful with them if you want them to last a while; Don't pull on them too hard lest you rip the waterproof lining and try not to walk in them barefoot/boots lest you wear down the floor which is very tempting as they are quite comfortable.
