This is a good value for money shaving pad. At the time of writing this article it was mainly selling for $30 and to be honest it was $10 too expensive. The physical stand itself feels solid and stands up well without hesitation. The part that holds my DE razor is open and big enough to hold my special razor blade. Unfortunately, the other side that holds the shaving brush is too narrow, causing my shaving brush to sit slightly askew. It's not a terrible problem, but if you're a bit picky like me, it can annoy you when your shaving brush does the same. Of course, my shaving brush is deliberately short and chunky; I like the smaller chunky look of this finger brush. The platform base that holds the bowl is my particular concern. There is nothing wrong with the base or bowl but I was hoping to get rid of the small plastic bowl and place my beautiful Edwin Jagger china bowl on the base but the base sits too close to the main stem and there is no way my bowl can sit there. Unfortunately, the plastic shell leaves a lot to be desired. It will certainly work, but there's nothing special or cool about it. I would say this product makes a great gift for those who are just beginning their journey into the amazing world of shaving and all that is beautiful, beautiful and beautiful. Accessories that fit this underrated old school art form.
