Review on Purina Fancy Feast Classic Chicken Cats by Yvonne Mok

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great for older cats!

A few years ago, at the respectable age of 18, one of my pets died from an inevitable kidney problem. This was after years of eating kibble provided I tried the best kind or what I thought was the best. Blue Buffalo and yes I have also used Purina One Indoor Advantage as well as the Purina One Urinary Tract and Sensitive Stomach variants. Watching my then-eldest begin to languish to the skin and bones helped me attempt to transition to an almost entirely wet cat diet. Wow, there are so many and they are so expensive. Mine is the eldest now, she's also at least 18 this year if not a little older and started having horrible symptoms a year ago so I've really started moving away from wet food. I have tried many of them, but unfortunately she has a very sensitive stomach and does not take much food. Considering her sensitive stomach and all three of my picky taste buds, let me just say I've spent a lot of money on cat food! So much money. Anyway, after a lot of research, trial and error, I finally went with it without question. Yes, I'll give you two others aside. Cat soup food with human friendly ingredients that everyone seems to like, as well as Hill's Science food, but after sooo many attempts to make other, more expensive, better (technical) foods I'm moving on to the food. Especially chicken and liver. Last year I stopped giving my cats a fish food because my older cat couldn't take it and for some reason this food was the perfect choice. No stomach problems and all three will eat it. I thought my mines was going to die last year or even 6 months ago she looked cute and puked all the time but since I started giving them mostly just that she comes back. She's still thin, but she's gained weight again and doesn't feel sick all the time like she used to, and she's a lot more herself again. It may not work for every cat, but it saved my child from the abyss. No, it may not be the super high quality advertised as the best food for cats with kidney problems, but it works for my daughter. I don't know why it works for her, but it works. No pink label chicken, no sauce lovers, and they don't like turkey or offal (which is good, too). This one in particular was the best I've ever tasted.

Pros
  • 100% complete and balanced diet
Cons
  • I don't remember
