Review on Zhiyun Weebill S Weebill Lab Stabilizer TransMount Quick Setup Kit for Crane 3 Crane Plus Gimbal - 1/4 Inch Screw Compatibility by Eric Budd

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not worth the money good for stabilizers

I bought Revain's TransMount Quick Setup Kit, then ChromLives Camera Handle Grip, then Andycine Handle Grip for the Zhiyun Weebill-S. The next day I sent back the TransMount Quick Setup Kit and the ChromLives Camera Handle Grip. That's why. Both returned items somehow didn't stay in the Weebill S Pen. They just started to loosen up after a few treatments. Both (ChromLive's Camera Handle Grip and TransMount Quick Setup Kit) do not have locking pins. The addition of the TransMount quick release has increased the arm of the tripod, creating a slight flex arc when mounting the gimbal on a tripod with just a 3lb gear (Canon 80D + 17-55mm F/2.8 lens). the tripod hold gimbal. Installing and removing the plate from the eccentric requires little effort. It doesn't just snap into place, you have to hold on to the spring ring. So it turns out that instead of jerking this camera (and you need 2 of them) back and forth, adding a few bucks to the Andycine Handle Grip, which has 4 locking pins, was the best idea. When you buy a Weebill-S, you quickly realize that you need both pens. One as a folding tripod and the other as an extra grip for the top of the gimbal. When you pick up a Weebill pen full of controls, you don't want to accidentally mess up Weebill's settings, turn it off, etc. and mess up your video. Even with the controls locked with my palm, I still managed to unlock them and turn off the motors. So you need 2 handles, making this quick release mechanism an overkill and expensive accessory.

Pros
  • Easy assembly
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.
