He shines and shines! It doesn't look cheap to me. This is slightly more than I expected, which is the opposite of what usually happens when I order jewelry online. I know the chain is strong because I accidentally tugged on it a few times and held it tight! I bought it as a personal memento. If you're giving it away, open it first as it comes vacuum packed in a tiny pouch, not the box that came with it. Also, the phrase "You are my compass" is not written on the necklace or on the box itself, just FYI.
