Just the right price for do-it-yourself applications with low speeds and moderate loads.
I have an old Champion 101 stanchion tube and usually the thrust bearing between the trapezoidal screw and the spindle breaks after a hundred years. Pretty hard to fix or replace unless you can find a $3 thrust bearing that's just the right width. Even if it wears out after a few years, it costs less than a drill.
