This is the second time I have had a Precision Playground. The first time was a medium size when my Shih Tzu was a puppy. Back then it was a velcro, half verse, updated zipper. I think both are ok. If you have a dog that will rip it up, then a bottom zip is a must. This product was a perfect fit for my Shih Tzu and we had no issues with it. I gave away the medium size when I didn't need it anymore so had to buy another when we recently added a Pomeranian puppy. This guy has a completely opposite temperament. The jumper bites into the railing and can climb onto the restricted area, which is open at the top. I had to throw it away after about a month of use as it was chewing on the zipper. I also didn't like that the plastic seemed to retain the dog smell even with regular wiping, washing the pup, and changing his bedding and toys. He also didn't seem to like that the elements of the grid, let's say a box, made us harder to see. So that was another factor. Hope this helps someone else. We eventually switched it to a toffee grip with a mesh top, but we had to zip the mesh top up after it learned how to unhook the velcro. Much luck.
