Review on High-Performance KMC X11SL 11-Speed Bike Chain with 116 Links by Hugo Caywood

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The chain is of good quality, no complaints.

I've bought several of these chains in the past, that's what happens when you have multiple bikes, all 11 speeds. I ran them on 1X and 2X transfers with no issues. I have a couple of chains for each bike, I'm a bit of a fan of keeping my toys clean and want them to last a long time. Depending on the conditions, I clean the chain off the bike about every 2-4, maybe 6 weeks. So as long as a chain gets wet and cleaner, I can still ride. I also clean the cassette and front sprocket, now I have all 1X11's since I sold my road bike. One wheel less and the gravel bike makes up for the racing bike. and yes I'm reusing the missing link (knock on wood), I feel like the recommendation to replace it after cleaning is more of a security issue, KMC is trying to force this on the client. Perhaps the missing link is the weakest link, pun intended. I'm not sure. For the person who claims someone put an 11 speed sticker on a ten speed box, I find it hard to believe that there aren't peelable labels on the boxes and I'm pretty sure KMC that won't do. Now this can be done in a 3rd party warehouse but not in a factory. And mine shift well and quietly. I think that's it, good chains.
