I usually wear a size 12 Levi jeans so I bought these. They fit, but they just fit. There is no elastic at the waist. So if you don't do it right, you won't be able to close the velcro. The waist is approximately 18 inches wide, so 36 inches in circumference. The leg opening is approximately 11 inches in diameter when flat, so 22 inches all around. The straight leg fits just like regular shorts, so don't expect wide legs or a skirt. They meet just above the knees. I like that they are soft and thin, like swimwear material. Haven't worn it to the beach yet. But I can put on my one-piece suit and go in the water. They should dry as quickly as a bathing suit. I plan to order a size larger.
