Rear view camera Connection instructions at a glance

This is a good radio for the price that comes with terrible instructions. The instructions are filled with misspelled words and broken English. They also do not contain anything to install a reversing camera. I will offer here any help possible for future installers. As for the radio functions, everything works well and as it should. The touchscreen is bright and responsive. There are problems during the installation. First, like all other brand car radios, they are custom sized. They do not fit into standard kits. You will most likely need to custom build and/or modify your vehicle for it to fit properly. I would still recommend purchasing a wiring harness installation kit. The power, ground, and speaker wiring is fairly simple. I had to fiddle with the camera wiring to figure out how to get it to work as the instructions say nothing. I'll spare you the trouble here. First, connect the camera's video cable to the purple input on the back of the device. There is an orange and black wire on the back of the radio that says 'Reverse In'. This should be 12V+ when the car is reversing. There is a red pigtail on each end of the camera's video cable. The easiest way to turn on the reversing camera is to connect the power cable to the reversing lights. Use this tap to apply 12V+ to the red wire on the camera and also to the red pigtail on the camera end of the camera video cable. You can then use the red pigtail on the radio end of the video cable to power the orange/black wire labeled 'Reverse In' on the back of the radio. The black wire on the camera goes to ground. Now when your car is reversing, the radio music will stop and switch to the rear view camera. So if you're willing to do whatever it takes to fit it in your car, wade through broken English instructions, and hook up a backup camera properly, you can upgrade to a decent radio with modern features for a little money Price.
