This shower curtain is NOT opaque, as the ad seems to show and as I wanted. It is translucent. You can see suggestive outlines through it. Since my bathroom door sometimes gets left partially open, I had definitely wanted something opaque.This is indeed heavy-duty though. The vivid, 3-D shower curtain I bought previously was a little too lightweight for me to use with absolute comfort. So I bought this as a replacement. But because of this product's translucence, I've had to use the two shower curtains in conjunction with each other. I have the pretty, pictured shower curtain on the outside for beauty and opacity, and I'm using this heavy duty, milky-white curtain as a liner. It's a more complicated arrangement than I'd hoped for - but ultimately, it seems to be working.I've only been using this curtain for several weeks, so I can't speak to how mildew resistant it will be in the long run. So far, so good though.
