It seems to me that in recent years flannel shirts have been made from a softer, fluffier and lighter material; reminiscent of what to wear to bed rather than the steel mill. However, this brand dates back to the flannel of my working-class ancestors in the Northeastern United States. Heavy, sturdy (in a good way), classic flannel shirts. My long hair and devilish demeanor might make them turn in their graves, but this flannel would make them proud. If you can comfortably afford Filson's timeless offerings, I don't see why you're wasting your time browsing Cambodia-made workwear. to Raven. But for the rest of us, it's what we need. (YMMV, but personally I would recommend ordering a size up. My usual size fits, but I came back to go up a size for fear of shrinkage.)
