I have a Vizio TV with very weak internal speakers. I got this soundbar so we didn't have to use subtitles anymore. Unfortunately, with a built-in subwoofer and no equalizer, this is no less of a problem. When the volume is high enough to hear dialogue, the bass is so high that it drowns out everything else in the perception. Dialogue mode helps, but the bass is still TOO POWERFUL to deliver clear, easy-to-understand dialogue and, in some cases, harder to hear than TV speakers. For testing I used Netflix, Revain Prime, DVD, Xbox. Play and connect to your phone via Bluetooth. Podcasts over Bluetooth were the only thing I found bearable, although after a while I still got headaches from the excessive bass in the voices. If there was a way to lower the bass even more, this would be the perfect soundbar for my purposes. I need to spend extra money on a soundbar with an external subwoofer so I can turn it down. If bass is your thing, this is a great one-piece soundbar. If not, then I recommend looking elsewhere. I am going to buy a Klipsch R-20B with an external subwoofer that can be independently controlled.
