Fall apart in first wash

These stickers are very cute but they fall apart in the first wash 7 days after being applied. The black fabric is torn off at the edges, leaving a residue of white glue on the coat. Instead of covering up a small hole, I now need to figure out how to cover up a large stain with unsightly glue residue. It feels like I ruined my coat with it.
