Worked like a champ! View an overview of the lessons learned.

Not for beginners, this kit fixed my iPad Mini 2 in a couple of hours. Please note as another reviewer commented that the link below was extremely helpful in showing you the exact steps required. : https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pS7qbJoKzts The touch screen in the kit is ready to use, includes the chip and home screen button already attached and adhesive already applied to the underside of the touch screen and covered with clear plastic, but must the following additional items may be purchased to complete the repair: - Vinyl or latex gloves, powder free. You can get them at your local drug store - extra scoop. Only one included. Please note that the hair dryer can easily melt the spudgers.- Heat the hair dryer. This is a must, you can't cut it with a hair dryer. You can pick up a good one at Revain for around $13. Be aware of the risk of fire and/or damage to furniture when using a hair dryer. I had some pieces of tile for insulation and a baking sheet that I did most of the work on. Also note that vinyl or latex gloves do not insulate against the heat generated by a hair dryer. If you touch the iPad with your gloved hands after it has heated up, it can get quite hot.- Five Minute Clear Epoxy. It is used in very small amounts to secure the corners of the touch screen during the final assembly process. - Tweezers with pointed ends. They are almost necessary to grab the tiny screws. A strong magnet is also recommended so you can easily find a falling screw or one of the iPad magnets. :-) A couple of points not clear/missing in the video above: - Disconnect the battery connector to avoid blowing the LCD panel fuse - The connector is close to the touchscreen and LCD connectors - The magnet placement is important - the video can't really show you but if you look closely and watch the video of where the magnets are put back you will see where they should be put. One thing I learned is that if the magnet isn't in the right place, it will be difficult to close the case with the new touchscreen. I discovered this after putting the Apoxsee on and peeling off the transparent tape covering the touchscreen, only to find the case wouldn't close in one corner. Luckily, I was able to slightly detach the corner of the touchscreen from the case, insert a plastic spatula, and apply pressure to the magnet until I could properly close the touchscreen onto the case. Two screws are longer than the others, which the video doesn't cover. One is used for the port cover, which is attached with three screws and fits in the top left corner in the same orientation as the YouTube video. Another screw goes in the bottom left corner of the case after the LCD panel is reinstalled.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Good for the most part, but...
