Review on Movo VXR300 X/Y Stereo Condenser Video Microphone with -10dB Attenuation, Low-Cut Filter, Deadcat Windsceen & Case - Compatible with DSLR and Camcorder Cameras by Dan Worku

Purchased for a Sony FDR-AX53 camcorder. The audio is a bit louder than the in-camera mic and definitely picks up more audio in front of the camera than from the side or behind. The microphone partially blocks my camera's zoom lever, but it can still be operated, and if I put on a fur bag, the fur can hang in front of the lens. Since this is very loud, you can consider the -10dB setting "normal" and only use 0dB if you are in a very quiet environment. The high-pass filter does a great job of cutting out traffic or wind noise, although it does make voices a bit harsh (in fact, you can't do without it). As expected, the fur cover significantly reduces wind noise. I only give 4 stars because the shock absorber is a joke. Despite being suspended by rubber bands, the distance between where the rubber band touches the mount and where it touches the microphone is practically zero. And you need to disassemble the whole thing to put in AAA batteries (not included).
