Ease of setup and use was perfect for my purposes. I make videos with my hands (Dialed In DIY - [.]) and often need to improve my camera's audio capture. This microphone setup was perfect for me in every way. I keep it in my camera bag so it's always available when I need it and always delivers the quality I wanted. It has been tested in windy and high tone, high volume conditions (e.g. orbital sander on steel and more).

Fine, but a couple of issues kept it sitting on the shelf. Firstly the windsock kept falling off and I really depend on it, it just doesn't fit properly, secondly the batteries are difficult to change as you have to detach the mic from the rubber straps and finally when holding the mic interferes with the viewfinder to the eye, so I had to use an extra mount to get it out of the way or always use a tripod. Purchased for a Sony FDR-AX53 camcorder. The audio is a bit louder than the in-camera mic and definitely picks up more audio in front of the camera than from the side or behind. The microphone partially blocks my camera's zoom lever, but it can still be operated, and if I put on a fur bag, the fur can hang in front of the lens. This is a durable microphone that will definitely improve the sound of your cameras. This is a solid microphone that gives you good sound at a great price compared to pricier offerings. I've paired this with both of my cameras and it's helped a lot on both, especially my cheap Canon. This was actually my second microphone of this type. The first was a different brand and model and broke on the first day. This Movo mic has survived quite a few uses and is still working. The mount is solid, the tape helps a little, and the whole unit feels well made, especially at this price point.
