I was very skeptical about buying these speakers. Every time I buy electronics at a low price, I worry about their quality and reliability. When the speakers arrived they were neatly packaged and when plugged in they produced down-firing sound with no background noise. At this point I was already satisfied with the speakers. Then I played around with the sound settings on the computer for about 15 minutes and now the speakers work amazingly well. They actually have a fairly low amount of base and can be boosted a bit before losing definition. So far I've played loud music around the room with them and they haven't let me down. Definitely a good buy.
