The in-ear headphones are already broken

When we first received the headphones everything was great. The only issue I had was when video chatting with someone my daughter could only hear/speak like this through the headphones had to be wired. If the headphones are Bluetooth, why don't they work wirelessly? It's only been a few weeks and the headphones are already broken. They tore where the headphones are supposed to be folded. So tell me, how did something designed to fold end up breaking?
