This notification system is just right for our needs. The signal successfully goes through 2 closed doors from one end of the house to the other. From the photos of this system I was a little concerned that the receiver would emit an annoying constant blue light that would disturb my sleep, but that is NOT the case. The blue light only flashes when the alarm is actually going off, so it serves as another wake-up mode. I plugged it in right next to my bed and it doesn't bother me at all when it's not activated. The SOS signal isn't hard to pull off, but it's not a "trigger" that starts the system at the slightest smack. Choosing the beep sound is a little awkward as you have to scroll through 52 options, but it was really fun. Some of them are pretty funny!
