Pros: You can easily see by eye if the water is too hot or too cold, which is a welcome - albeit minor - convenience when you're busy watching your fussy baby. On the other hand, if your child has color preferences (ours loves red, for example), then you'll have a bit of a problem if their color preferences and your/her temperature preferences don't match. On the outer perimeter of the showerhead is a disc that rotates to select the shape of the jet. I never know which way to turn it to find the pause mode, and when I find it it still leaks a lot of water, so it's not really "pause". And then I have to look for the spray pattern I used before. This is another inconvenience mostly limited to dog washing, but in general we prefer the one-touch pause mechanism.
