As other reviewers have noted, the fit can be quite snug, but that's the goal, so to speak. It will fit snugly so it doesn't move. I just installed mine and haven't decided yet whether to keep it or not. It just does a good job of organizing things and the fit is nice and snug, but the worst thing about it is the edges. BE CAREFUL! They are not ground or rounded. The moment I put it in, I got hurt. I hope this doesn't happen again in the future when I have to put my hand in a hole to get something. But if he bites me again, he'll come back. My console also has a shelf that sits on top, so longer items (e.g. a checkbook) have to face forward or the lid won't close.
