Lightweight, Affordable and Durable...

Safety 1st is a brand name of the children's goods group Dorel. Dorel also owns Costco, Tiny Love and Maxi Cosi... Safety 1st is a valuable brand (Maxi-Cosi is Dorel's high-end line) and a fairly cheap system for traveling kids. However, this comes from a large company with a lot of experience in the field. As a result, you can be more confident dealing with reviews and following safety guidelines than if you were to buy from some lesser-known brands. The heart of this system is the car seat. I'll cover the stroller briefly, but the most important (and usually most expensive) part of such a cheap travel system is the car seat. In high-end travel systems, a stroller can be much more expensive than a car seat, but the car seat remains the most important component of a set due to its central role in your child's safety. 35 pounds. It is not intended for personal use. And it doesn't turn into a booster. This is a simple, well-made car seat for babies and toddlers. You need to make sure it's at the right angle by using the seat angle sensor. If your car's back seat is too reclined and you can't get the right angle from the base, you'll need to use something like pool noodles at the junction of the backrest and seat cushion to get the correct angle adjustment. Base. To adjust, the seat belts must be re-threaded. This is a difficult task and if you already have a booster seat you can use it just fine for the first few months until your child is big enough to fit in the top strap slots of that car seat. The seat cushion and cover are machine washable, but washing requires disassembly of the harness, which may save you from frequent cleaning. The car seat can be used with or without the included base. When used with a base, the LATCH system is used for attachment to the vehicle. The stroller is lightweight, folds compactly and offers a range of useful features at an affordable price. It works in several ways: Your child can be rear-facing or forward-facing in 4 different orientations: car seat only, car seat and stroller seat, stroller seat only and stroller/carrier mode. From a practical point of view I think it has four orientations, not eight, but the advertising text says eight in one... The stroller is quite strong, with suitable wheels and a useful bin under the seat. There is a tray for your child with a drink holder and a tray for the parents between the handles with a trash can and two more drink holders. Looking at Safety 1st's travel system offerings, this seems to be the most similar to the old Riva 6-in-1 system, but costs about $100 more using the same car seat. Honestly, I'm not sure what changes justify the price increase. But it's still a good system for the price.

Pros
  • Sun Shade: The extra large canopy of the stroller includes an extendable zipped third panel and viewing window, and the car seat also has a large canopy.
Cons
  • Cargo
