I haven't tested it in practice yet; I bought it for a headless monopod. I can tell you it's solidly built, the ball moves well, and the aluminum locking knob feels solid and secure. I'll update this after actually using it with my new Canon R, but the materials and build seem up to the task. Its size is also perfect for my monopod. The price of $11 was very attractive. Some were hundreds. Truth?! UPDATE: 05/20/21: I've used this several times. I can recommend it for use with a monopod and a DSLR with a mid-range lens like the 24-105 or a mirrorless camera like the Sony 6000. It's pretty solid. A good product.
