Review on ZENY Airbrush Compressor Airbrushing Multipurpose by Lori Aguirre

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Attention, animal balloon twisters and an alternative way to seal the regulator to the tank.

First of all thanks to Mike who checked this in March. My wife makes balloon animals and figures at children's events. Inflating those long balloons with a hand pump quickly becomes tedious. This little compressor is perfect for inflating balloons with some port cargo items. Specifically part numbers 62688 and 69578. The first kit is an air compressor kit that includes a blow gun with an additional rubber tip that screws onto the air gun. Balloons are a very good protection against it. Simply stretch slightly over the tip and hold with thumb and forefinger. Another item is a 10 foot airbrush hose. You don't actually need a hose, but it does have an adapter that converts from that airbrush thread to 1/4" NPT. This is the thread you need for the airgun. I sealed everything with blue loctite. (Note : Locktite is an anaerobic thread sealant. Works without air.) Blue Loctite is important for the next part of this review.. I found it a bit less complex. fit this groove. (You can also go to any auto parts store and you can have it with fix some o-rings.) While this groove isn't exactly designed to be an o-ring groove, it still works pretty well.I used an o-ring that protruded slightly above the face of the regulator.Unscrew the o-ring put onto the external thread of the tank adapter and then coat with Abundance but coat the threads with blue Loctite and screw the regulator in. IMPORTANT! Do not overtighten the regulator! Simply unscrew the adjuster, b is the o-ring snapping into place and then just enough for the adjuster to seat properly. Usually about 1/4-1/2 turn. It's the O-ring that seals, not how tight you screw it in. (First I checked the adjustment and pressure without Loctite). Satisfied, I unscrewed and applied Loctite. Set aside for a few hours to allow the Loctite to harden. The cured Loctite will prevent the regulator from moving too easily and damaging the o-ring. If the Loctite does not provide enough grip, you can use a hard pipe sealant or a hard gasket sealant. I blow everything and it doesn't flow a bit. Sorry my photos are blurry. My camera doesn't take close-ups very well. The O-ring is green in the photo. BY THE WAY; You can hardly hear the little compressor running.

Pros
  • Materials for airbrushing
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Great for scale modelers!
