Review on πŸ’ Chic Cherry and Black Triple Wall Mounted Storage Cabinet by Prepac: Organize and Beautify Your Space by Adam Krueger

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Nice frame; The bottom of the shelves should be black

Prepac's triple wall cabinet is very easy to put together and I think the cherry/black finish is a stunning color combination. I had no problem installing this box on the wall above my stereo box. Instead of the 3 3.5" screws from the hardware kit, I used 6 3" screws (two for each stud). They were easier to wind up and the wall stabilizer is high enough to use 2 screws per post. I have two "problems" with this cabinet and therefore I am rating this cabinet a 4 instead of a 5. First, most of the black surfaces are worn and scuffs do not go away with cleaning; None of the cherry finishes were worn and they were all in perfect condition. I don't mind the shelf faces being scraped as the CD will scratch them over time, but scuffs and small "chips" on the front faces are very annoying. Second, since this cabinet will need to be hung on the wall, I believe the bottom of the shelves should be painted black to match the top and front of the shelves. So I took the time to paint the bottom of all 12 shelves black before arranging my CDs. This optically upgraded the closet. I know this is more of an aesthetic issue and not everyone would think that a bare shelf detracts from the overall look. What surprised me the most was how easy it was to attach the cabinet to the wall. The rear stabilizer docked with the wall stabilizer on the first try without having to move or "fight" the case. Maybe my son and I just got lucky, but it was a surprise nonetheless. Overall a very nice closet and I couldn't find anything I liked more.
