These files work well and still appear to be well made. I'm no pro, but a quick google search says the lower the number, the grainier it is, and I believe 80 is the lowest number. They are probably NOT intended for natural nails at all, but I bought them to file overgrown acrylic nails. The file definitely did its job. This will make your nails look pretty rough, and you'll need another file with a finer grit to smooth out the edges. Next time I think 80/100 or 80/120 would be better for acrylic, but I'll probably have those files for the rest of my life (haha). The part I hate: I immediately noticed a distinct smell, which I couldn't. I didn't really understand him until I realized he smelled exactly like hot brakes. For example, if you're driving through the mountains and someone is abusing the brakes and they get hot and you feel it and you're instantly nauseous? yes this one Unkind. It's probably bad for breathing too, but I'm sticking with these files as I don't get acrylics very often and won't be using them regularly. sharp edges. Smells like hot brake pads (chemical and gross). They work fine.
