Review on 🔌 Brydge Vertical Dock for 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar (2020-2016), featuring 2 x Thunderbolt 3 Ports by Shaun Bushey

I ordered this dock to upgrade my home setup a bit from a basic stand for my 15" MacBook Pro (2018) that plugs directly into my old 27" Thunderbolt display is connected. I really liked the space gray design and was looking forward to having more desk space. The dock arrived and I followed the instructions to connect it which was pretty easy. After launch, I encountered the following issues: The docking station was not powering my Thunderbolt ports, which I used for a printer, iPhone charging station, etc. Thunderbolt display audio stopped working. The sound was only played directly from the MacBook. Then waking the display from sleep wasn't instant, and it required lots and lots of swipes on the external keyboard. And after a few days of use, my external screen started randomly flickering while I was working. I contacted technical support for help. At first this person seemed to know and I provided him with a video of my setup and an explanation. But in the end they never managed to solve any of my problems. The only real solution I was offered in a conversation with tech support (which lasted over 2 weeks!) was to reset the SMC. Surprisingly, that didn't help either. The time between my emails and support replies was always at least 2 business days. Too long when I needed help with a rather expensive device that didn't work and ended up sitting on my desk gathering dust (I went back to my basic stand very quickly as my patience was exhausted). I'm used to much better and more efficient tech support! In the end, tech support wanted to open a warranty claim and get me to send the dock in for review, but I was fed up by then. I told them I didn't want to wait a few more weeks to get another dock that might no longer work. So I asked for a refund and they referred me back to Revain as they couldn't do it themselves. And I did. I sent the dock back to Revain, got a refund and am happy to go back to my old simple setup where everything works great. I am very disappointed with the technical support. For the price of this docking station I definitely expect more! That's why technical support gets 1 star; 5 stars for the quality of the material and the design of the docking station. As long as it works the way it's supposed to.
