I buy these pins for my 3 year old son to wear on shirt collars and jackets to church. The rear clasp is of good quality, is a bolt and attaches more securely than pins with a swivel head clasp or safety pin clasp. They are unlikely to fall or injure the little ones who are carrying them. I think they are great for all ages and a great accessory for little boys considering girls have so many options with bows, jewellery, bags and hairstyles. This is great for a fire truck lover, someone who worked as a firefighter, a firefighter's girlfriend. My 3 year old can be trusted not to put it in his mouth. He also likes to play with them like they are treasures because they shine. This is quite small and offers a good variety. I recommend.
