The Mjolnir 2 amp (which runs hot with vacuum tubes) sits on top of the second platform with nothing above it so it can easily dissipate its heat

I use this monitor stand to store my audiophile components. It's just the right size for my needs. I ordered a twin pack as the audio equipment needs to be stacked and has enough room to dissipate the heat generated by the equipment during normal operation. Each leg is made up of three stackable sections that fit snugly into one another before merging upwards. I used all three for the bottom platform because I need room for my hands to reach the device switches. The Jotunheim solid state headphone amp is located under the 1st platform. The Gungnir DAC (16" x 8 3/4 x 2 1/2") sits on top of the first platform. The second platform for the Mjolnir 2 headphone amp needs some tweaking as the Gungnir doesn't fit in the room. between the legs. The back legs of the platform (two sections each) actually sit on the gungnir while the front legs of the 3 sections sit on the 1st platform with a 3/4 inch spacer between the platform and the bottom of the leg the 2nd platform was straight. The Mjolnir 2 amp (heated by vacuum tubes) sits on the second platform without anything above it, allowing it to easily dissipate its heat. I love the flexibility these monitor stands offer. I'm going to make a few small changes: 1) I glued some non-slip material to the bottom of the legs and 2) I drill or screw holes in the bottom of the foot insert so the bottom of the front legs can be securely attached to the 3/4 "Wood spacers. Making a 3/4" tall spacer/aligner for the front legs is a trivial task. Again, the item is well made and easy to adjust to different heights. Time, and the first platform is already up and running and looking great.
