With the advent of duvet covers, it's nice to be able to just buy a fitted sheet. This one has some additional features: in addition, it has straps to keep the sheet in place. If you're a restless sleeper like me, you can quickly twist and turn the bed and you'll stay safe. My mattress is only 12 inches deep (notice I only used that word?) but the pockets on these sheets are 15 inches deep so these straps can help keep sheets in place on very thick mattresses and sheets on those that who aren't, snug so low.. comfortable and only time will tell how they wear. They seemed cheap enough to tick the bill for my purposes.
