Review on Prove Infrared No Contact Thermometer by Mike Nix

How it works with health monitors

I received it today. It was in a soft postal envelope, the box was crushed but the instrument appears to be intact. It took two fairly well educated adults about two hours to figure out how it works. The instruction manual was hilarious (written by someone who doesn't seem to speak English) and the quick start guide was useless. So the little button changes it from adult to child. If you press the big button once, the device will beep. Then aim at your forehead and press again. He beeps a little longer. Don't hold him back. The big screen flashes green and the number is black, but it's happening so fast it's difficult to catch when you're taking your own temperature. This reading moves down to the bottom line of the screen. So you can still see what he said, but not in large numbers. The directions show the probe cover. I thought mine was missing, but it's actually some kind of magnetic thing that snaps shut to cover the ear probe. If you use it on the forehead, the probe cap stays on. I'm not sure how accurate that is. My oral digital thermometer read 98.1 and this one read 97.5 on my forehead. But he said 97.5 pretty consistently, so who knows. I'm also not sure if an oral thermometer is accurate. I'm sorry I didn't order another thermometer. I'm not sure about that.
