I would recommend this widow's film to anyone who wants to keep the light but not see. The seller is excellent, arrived quickly and in good condition. Now that I've got that sorted out, a few details. It might be easy enough to install, but that doesn't mean it will be easy. Take your time. Wash the windows and then wash them again. For example, let's say you have a big, lazy cat who knows to stay away from the counter, but she's a cat, so she doesn't care. You should vacuum first, dust and wipe down the entire area, THEN clean the window, THEN apply the film. Otherwise it still looks great and the next day you know exactly how much cat hair got between the foil and the glass. Nothing wrong with the product but make sure everything is clean. (And maybe be a little stricter with cats on the counter rule) Use lots of water. I didn't, and later found out that every time someone tries to get that film out without using a decent amount of water, a different boy band emerges. I'm sorry. Also, your film may not adhere as well as it should. Be methodical and gently squeeze out any air bubbles and water. I've found that working from the center to the edges works well. Make sure you use a new razor blade. Secure. (It's a razor blade) Finally, I've already used this on three windows and I need to do a few more. I'll probably have to redo the kitchen window (after the cat and I have worked on some things and I'll eventually admit I was wrong and try a little harder to get the hair off the countertop next time) a Another problem The one I have in the kitchen is from previous owners who may have spilled some food or maybe even some paint on the window and then cleaned it with a Scotch Brite sponge. I believe the badly scratched glass caused a film adhesion problem. I can try adding a few drops of dish soap to the water on that window, but I'll check with the manufacturer first. I've had a lot of problems, but I can't fault the product. While the garage window is more complex due to its size, it worked great thanks to the lessons I learned from the kitchen window. Now I feel like an expert! Although I didn't like the styling process, this is a really great solution that looks very pretty when done right. One last tip: after the film is hanging on the window and looking great, this is NOT the best time. Don't forget to take some "before" photos.
