I wanted to try these shoes for kickboxing as I needed extra padding for the top of my foot when I hit the bag and after a few weeks of use I think so that they are a good alternative to buying more expensive shoes. They're easy to put on, don't take up much room in your gym bag, are comfortable, and offer ample foot and ankle support. I also assume you can put them in the wash if needed as I've done this a number of times afterwards with no problems. The only real problem I have with them is the velcro that goes around the ankle: sometimes it started to loosen. I don't expect them to last for years but for the time I've had them they've held up well and for the money I think they're a great alternative to kickboxing/martial arts shoes.
