This case is very thin. So if you're looking for a case that doesn't add bulk, this is probably the one for you. I don't think it protects against falls. This basically gives you a better grip on the iPad and protects the back of the iPad from scratches. It's exactly what I was looking for, but this iPad stays at home all the time and I don't carry it on my bookshelf or in my bag. If you're looking for solid protection, you probably won't get much in this case. However, it fits the iPad perfectly and serves the purpose I ordered it for. The only complaint I have is that it is being shipped from China and today is January 12th and I only received it today. I ordered it about a month ago. Otherwise it looks the same as in the picture. I would order again based on my case needs. If you want solid protection I would recommend a different case.
