I bought these spools of thread because I am working on a crochet project that required several spools of different colors of thread. These bobbins were easy to thread and large enough to hold enough yarn for me to finish the project. They certainly made the transition from one thread color to another a lot easier if I was careful to unwind the thread when changing. The design is also good because it is easy to wind the yarn onto the spool at the beginning of the project. Forty is a lot but I used every spool as I need multiple spools of each color so this was a great purchase for me. They weren't very expensive, so they went very well with my Afghan project.
