I'm accepting of my natural gray (started at age 10) so I've recently added highlights and tinted it to platinum to help it blend and grow with my salt and pepper roots . I have thick, coarse, wavy Asian hair. I first used the purple shampoo for a few months but it seemed to make the unbleached previously colored (dark brown) areas too light. I wanted a full ashy color that would also keep my highlights silvery (as opposed to bleached yellow) and the orange-free Fanol gets the job done - I haven't had to return for a toning session since I've been using this product for over 3 months. return. Once a week or two, deviating from the usual instructions, I apply the shampoo to dry or damp hair (after normal washing and conditioning) much like I color my hair at home and leave for 15-15 minutes. 30 minutes; rinse off and do the same with the blue mask.
