I like this coffee set because it's finally something portable that I can use. I've tried manual grinders and have a variety of portable pump espresso machines and kits designed to make great coffee on the go. I will use this from now on. I drink mostly Americano. I roast my beans and got great results on my first try with this kit. I didn't adjust the grind at all at the factory and found that 1 full scoop of beans to 12 ounces of water makes a decent cup of java. I love that I can just put some beans in the grinder, press the button and walk away. I really couldn't tell when the grinder was done grinding so I stopped it after about 2 minutes, the bean pod was empty and there was a very fine grind in the filter basket. The grinding was on the level of espresso. I've soaked this granola three times and was impressed with my 2 week La Finca Milagrosa Fried Panama. I didn't weigh anything or try to take an accurate temperature - I'm not going to do it in a hotel room, so I didn't do it for this test. The result is a very tasty coffee. The stainless steel vacuum travel mug is also excellent and the fresh coffee in it stayed warm for a reasonable amount of time. Definitely long enough for me. I drink my coffee almost immediately, but sometimes I like to take it with me on the road. This is a big win for me as I rarely feel like waking up and turning the Hario knob. I can press the button on the coffee grinder and put the water in the microwave. Excellent. The build quality of this thing is also excellent. Very well done. It is reliable enough to use at home every day.
