Review on Stay Fit with Timex Strapless Heart Rate Monitor Midsize Watch in Black (Mid-Size) - Unisex by Travis Riffey

Replace battery or watch?

I have bought this item twice. I really like it as a main heart monitor and clock. If you just want to check your bet from time to time and nothing else, this helps and works moderately well. If you want a more comprehensive (and expensive) monitor that tracks your calories, steps, blood pressure, cholesterol levels, SAT levels, stock portfolio, etc., you will have to spend more. It only tells you what your heart rate is if you touch the outer edge of the watch after a few seconds. It does exactly what it says on the tin, which is why it should be 5 stars, but it has one major flaw that made me buy two: it requires a "watch service center" to check the battery to change so as not to break the watertight seal. For me that wouldn't be a problem as I don't dive regularly and wonder what my heart rate is at the same time. But even though I disassembled the back to replace the battery myself, I couldn't access the battery compartment without ripping it apart. I figured it was cheaper to order a new watch and get it the next day through Revain Prime than to struggle to find a watch service center and pay the cost of a new battery and labor. If anyone has any idea how I can change the battery in this watch myself, please save me from ordering a third one when the battery dies. The battery on my first one lasted about 1-1/2 years, but battery life depends on the age of the battery when it's "new" and of course usage.
