I think 2.5 stars would be the perfect rating for this item. This is my second cap and the result is the same. About a month - 6 weeks no matter how much you wash it but it stinks! Looks awful like mold. For the price, I just can't afford to buy a new one that often. It works well but save your money and buy a shower cap at the drug store for $4-5. That way you won't feel so bad about throwing it away after a month or two. The elastic on this cap is also a bit tight and the cap itself seems small. I, like others, don't have a big head, it's rather average, and the cap feels tight and struggles to hold all my shoulder length hair. I will not buy again.
