Review on Hamilton Beach Replacement Filter 04234G by Tom Beland

We have several Hamilton Beach TrueAir units that will work with this filter: three plug-in units and a square room odor neutralizer (model #04532GM). Each refill contains one filter, while the indoor unit contains 3 filters (front and side). We've used different types of TrueAir replacement filters — Febreze, Regular, and Pet — and these pet filters are by far my favorites. We started out by only using these pet odor filters in our pantry/laundry room where our litter box, cat bowls and dog food storage bins are located. We installed an indoor odor neutralizer (admittedly an exaggeration, but I VERY dislike the smell of kitty litter) with 3 pet odor filters and the difference was amazing. Not only are there no more animal smells in the laundry room, but the smells of other things have been drastically reduced. It doesn't smell like pantry anymore. It no longer smells like laundry. Unless you've been rearranging laundry or opening a can of cat food, even if we keep onions on the shelf, there's almost no smell. Our plug-ins are strategically placed in our main living spaces — the kitchen, living room, and formal dining room next to our dogs' crates — and while all of these places aren't known for pet odors, I've found that these filters are better than other varieties in almost all situations in our house. My husband and I no longer have to put up with smelly dog crate leftovers, cat litter, kitchen scraps, or the smelly feet of our teenagers. As another reviewer said, small "timers" don't work, so I don't use them. I regularly check the filters to see if they have accumulated dust and sometimes I go into the pantry and find that the smells are coming back and this is the signal to change the filters. Filters are expensive, yes, but they're worth it. With a cat, two dogs, and five kids running around my house, I need all the odor control I can get, and these filters, along with the TrueAir units, really did the job for us.
