First of all, this cat scratching post is beautiful. You can place it anywhere in the house; it's like a sculpture. It's also very durable. I have a lot of cats - some like to shred the scratching post, others just like to lie on it. Taking two stars off the rating might not be fair as scraper issues are quite predictable. It's a cardboard scraper, after all, and that's the problem. Around him is a constant mess of shredded cardboard. I expected that and it might not be a problem if you only have a cat or two. The problem, however, is what happens when one of your cats inevitably throws a ball of fur onto a scratching post. It's really impossible to clean without digging into the box, and of course if you try to wipe off the remains of vomit with a damp cloth, the box will "melt" and leave an unsightly wound. I clearly don't like this scratching post as much as my cats do. They would probably give it five stars. I'm updating my review to reflect PetFusion's outstanding customer service. After reading the above review, Alexandra from PetFusion Customer Service offered to replace my scraper for free. I certainly didn't expect that; Cats eventually shed hairballs. However, the new scraper arrived as promised. PetFusion gets five stars for customer service. I wish the company the best of luck.
