It has been carefully packed in styrofoam blocks around the frame and on the front and back of the frame to avoid breaking the glass. I had to take it from another box and then open the second box that was inside the larger box. It has also been shrink wrapped to be waterproof. If you take all the packaging off and take a look at the frame it is very well made, the wooden frame has no scuffs or anything, no chipped paint, no scratches and the glass is not cracked or chipped. The base of the frame is also made from really hard wood and was rigid rather than flexible. The entire frame of the picture is solid and appears to be carrying some weight. The glass would definitely shatter if it fell off the wall. The only thing needed is wire so the two metal D-rings on the back of the frame can be tied together so it can be fixed to a nail on the wall and adjusted. D-rings are located on the left and right rear of the frame. If the picture is upside down there is a third D-ring to allow the picture to be hung lengthwise instead of crosswise. I like this picture frame, it's worth the money. It's not cheap and it looks good. Thank you for letting me buy this so my artwork can hang on the wall.
